With the arrival of spring, residents at Gig Harbor Court were eager to embrace the sunshine and indulge in their passion for gardening. The residents rolled up their sleeves, got their hands dirty, and revived the garden boxes, anticipating a bountiful harvest in the coming months. The activity showcased the residents’ green thumbs and highlighted the vibrant sense of community and engagement that defines life at Gig Harbor Court.

According to the National Library of Medicine, gardening offers many physical benefits for older adults. Regular and continuous involvement in gardening provides increased physical activity, which can prevent osteoporosis and reduce the risk of some cancers, Type 2 diabetes, depression, and heart disease. The residents’ gardening activity underscores Gig Harbor Court’s commitment to enriching experiences and engaging in healthy activities.
