What began as a simple collecting hobby has blossomed into a mission to reconnect people with forgotten pieces of history. Lowell’s project has returned postcards to a wide range of recipients.
- A nearly 90-year-old postcard, recently sent back to a Central Texas church, was welcomed with excitement and gratitude by the congregation, who were touched by the chance to connect with their past.
- In another instance, he sent a postcard to St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, bringing a piece of the institution’s history back to the present day.
- A story from Journal-News details how Lowell returned a 109-year-old postcard to a Middletown, Ohio school district, a gesture that brought delight to students and teachers alike.
The project has garnered national attention and has been highlighted in features by the USPS Employee News, Buffalo AKG Art Museum blog, and numerous other publications. Recently, Lowell also took part in a Zoom interview with a New York-based news reporter, sharing his mission to reconnect people with meaningful pieces of the past.
His dedication has even earned him requests from organizations across the country seeking to be a part of his growing postcard network.
