When it’s time to eat, residents at Town Village Crossing know food will arrive hot and ready. That’s because, silently whirling between tables in the dining room, are two robot table runners designed to assist with meal delivery.
Gizmo, affectionately named by a resident, has been supporting the dining staff by transporting up to 16 meals at a time from the kitchen to the dining room. His counterpart Bonnie does the same – allowing the chef to send out 32 meals at once! Then the team serves the meals directly to residents. This approach allows staff to spend more time engaging with residents while ensuring meals are delivered efficiently.

The addition of these speedy assistants is part of Town Village Crossing’s ongoing effort to embrace the future, and blend hospitality with smart solutions that benefit both residents and staff. Gizmo has been a routine presence in the dining room since 2023, while Bonnie joined the senior living community in 2024.
With these helpful robots handling tasks like delivering plates and bussing tables, the culinary team has more time to engage with residents during mealtimes. Instead of rushing between tables, staff can focus on meaningful conversations, learn more about residents’ favorite meals, and create a more personal dining experience. This added connection turns each meal into more than just nourishment—it becomes a time for socializing and building relationships.
