We have all been through so much during this pandemic. Although we must stay safe by social distancing and wearing masks, that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun! Here at Dunwoody Place, we are keeping our residents active and engaged with new activities and reimagined community events. Here are just a few ways that Dunwoody is getting creative during this time.
Beer Day Happy Hour
Although we couldn’t be together to celebrate, residents of Dunwoody enjoyed International Beer Day from the comfort of their rooms! The event took place this past Friday, August 7th. The community was brought a variety of options to choose from. A few standouts were the tropical and Irish beers.
Socially-Distanced Family Visits
Family visits are still on at Dunwoody Place! We like to call it, “6 feet apart but close to the heart.” All visitors, residents, and staff are required to wear face masks during the visit. One of our residents, Mr. Winston, enjoyed some family time on the porch this past Wednesday. Seeing familiar faces is a great way to bring some normalcy to a very unprecedented time. Visits give our residents something to look forward to and we are so grateful that we can still provide that at Dunwoody.
Hallway Happenings
Brain Teasers are the perfect way to keep yourself engaged. Here at Dunwoody, we are using this time to create “Hallway Happenings!” During the morning, we encourage our residents to join us outside of their rooms, while social distancing, to partake in thinking games, along with hallway bingo! One of our residents, Robert White, enjoys the morning group activities. It’s a wonderful way to start the day.
These are just a few of the activities that Dunwoody has planned over the past few months. We take pride in being a community that is continuously looking for new and exciting ways to keep our residents entertained and engaged. Come join us at Dunwoody Place, where there is always a new adventure waiting for you!
