From a meeting at an insurance office in 1975 to nearly five decades of companionship, Bob and Evonne’s 49-year marriage is proof of enduring love.
From Nebraska to Colorado: Building a Life Together
Bob and Evonne first crossed paths while working at the same office in Nebraska, where Evonne greeted visitors at the front desk, and Bob served as the regional sales manager. It was Bob who first felt a spark, though he had recently divorced.
“I was interested,” Bob admits. “And I liked him a lot — he was fun,” Evonne adds.
They gave in to their feelings, began dating, and got married on May 16, 1975. In 1976, they made Colorado their home.
A Lifetime of Shared Memories
Bob and Evonne built a life of shared experiences and treasured memories, with Bob enjoying his role as a leader at the company and Evonne channeling her creativity into jewelry making and home decor.
Their personalities, though different, made them a perfect match.
“I’m very outgoing,” Bob explained, “but Evonne was shy and highly creative.”
Together, they balanced each other’s strengths and found harmony in their differences. As Evonne recalls, she would handle the little details, while Bob would plan grand trips — a dynamic that kept their relationship lively.
When asked the secret to their long-lasting marriage, Bob and Evonne agree: “Trusting each other.”
Early in their relationship, Evonne would write sweet notes to Bob when he was away on business trips around Nebraska, something that touched Bob deeply and became a cherished part of their relationship.
Celebrating Love at The Courtyards at Mountain View
“Bob and Evonne’s story is a beautiful reflection of love, partnership, and mutual support,” said Molly B.
