Queensbury Female Veteran Celebrates 100th New Year’s Day Birthday at Retirement Community

It is the most exciting birthday of the century! Ms. Cecily Geraghty turned 100-years-old on New Year’s Day. Her celebration was on January 1, 2020 at The Landing at Queensbury, her senior living community, at 27 Woodvale Rd. Peers and associates sang happy birthday, enjoyed some cake with her, and gifted her a nice bouquet of flowers.

Cecily's interview with CBS 6 Albany.

She’s a gold medalist ballroom dancer, a British citizen who served in the Royal Air Force during WWII with distinction and is still full of fun.

Ms. Cecily has led quite the life and continues to dazzle her fellow residents, the community’s associates, and family and friends. As a special birthday present, Ms. Cecily dropped the honorary puck at the Adirondack Thunder Hockey league game on New Year’s Day. She wore her British Royal Air Force uniform that was tailor-made for her with a color guard in attendance as well.
