About Evelyn
Evelyn’s life is a rich tapestry woven with love, dedication, and community. Married to Russell in March of 1944, their partnership flourished for 62 years until his passing in 2006. Together, they raised two daughters, Louise and Susan, and celebrated the joy of being grandparents to three grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
Evelyn participated in civic and social organizations, reflecting her commitment to positively impacting her community.
Her work with the Kappa Delta Alumni Association and the Presbyterian Church showcases her spirit of giving back. With a passion for bridge, golf, and hosting gatherings, along with her love for travel, she embraces life with enthusiasm. A former school secretary, Evelyn embodies a life filled with purpose and connection.
At 101, Evelyn is clearly enjoying retirement. Her secret to longevity is simple: “a positive attitude and a loving family.” When asked her opinion on the most significant technology ever invented, she responded, “Television and computers!” with a smile.
