A Greenhaven Place resident and nursing retiree recently turned 100, and our team was thrilled to help her celebrate.
Her name is Peggy, and she joined our community in May of 2021. Since then, she’s made countless new friends. Our team members think she’s pretty amazing, too.
Nurses are the heart of health care, embodying compassion, dedication, and resilience. Their unwavering commitment to patient care transcends mere duty; they are advocates, healers, and support systems during life’s most challenging moments.
Each day, nurses like Peggy inspire hope and comfort, making a profound difference in the lives they touch and the communities they serve.
About Peggy
Peggy was born on June 23, 1924, in Aurora, IL. She has a bachelor’s degree in nursing and was married for over 20 years.
Her favorite hobbies are reading and gardening.
This retired nurse doesn’t think there’s a secret to longevity, but she watches what she eats, avoiding beef, pork, or starchy items.
We loved her answer to the question, “What is the greatest technology invented so far?” Her answer: The light bulb, because it helps her read when it is dark.
A woman of few words in those cases, but those answers were right on point!
