On February 10, 2024, we were thrilled to host a centenarian’s celebration birthday party for our beloved resident, Mr. Gilbert A. We marked this incredible milestone with a one-of-a-kind private party with his friends and family in our community’s dining room.
Gilbert is a living witness to 100 years of history and an embodiment of the vibrant spirit at Dunwoody Place. Married for an impressive 72(!) years, he is fondly known as “Papa” by our team members – a testament to his endearing personality and warm friendships within the community.
Known for never engaging in gossip, not even with his daughter, Gilbert has built a reputation as everyone’s friend; he remains a pillar of honesty, kindness, and sweetness. His 100th birthday party was a heartwarming gathering filled with laughter, shared memories, and the joy of reaching such an extraordinary age.
Gilbert is Our Artist-in-Residence
A man of many talents, Gilbert is a dedicated worker and skilled artist who retired three times before making it official! He has created beautiful paintings that add to Dunwoody Place’s charm. His love for gardening and decorating has also left indelible marks on fellow residents and team members alike, reflecting his passion for life.
