Evergreen Place in Brockport recently hosted a beloved resident’s 104th birthday celebration. The guest of honor was Elizabeth, a spunky centenarian resident born in Albion, NY. The event featured all her favorite things and a tribute to her incredible life.
“Elizabeth inspires us all to live life to the fullest,” shared Julie Westcott, Executive Director of Evergreen Place. “Her humor, resilience, and passion for life are infectious to everyone around her. She’s living proof that age is just a number.”
About Elizabeth
Elizabeth was born on August 7, 1920, and joined Evergreen Place in March 2023. Since then, she’s been knitting, gardening, and reading her way into everyone’s hearts.
Married for 40 years to her husband Bob, she’s the proud mother of seven children and the loving grandmother and great-grandmother to a whopping 43 grandchildren and great-grandchildren!
Elizabeth has spent her life helping others, with a 40-year career as the Family Advocate Director for Head Start. This state program for low-income children provides a safe, stimulating environment that encourages cognitive, social, and emotional development.
Elizabeth has seen the world transform and still marvels at the invention of the telephone, calling it the greatest technological advancement of her time. Her secret to longevity? “Just keep breathing! I refuse to die!”
