A Joyful Community Gathering at Laketown Village
Laketown Village residents recently gathered for a special celebration honoring Annette, who turned 101 years old.
The entire community and family members came together to sing, laugh, and celebrate, with Annette sitting proudly on her throne, surrounded by loved ones. Events like these remind us how important it is to celebrate life’s milestones, especially when we’re all together.
The Benefits of Arts and Crafts for Seniors
Arts and crafts offer numerous benefits for seniors. Creative activities can help improve cognitive function, reduce stress, and boost mood, making them a valuable part of a senior’s routine.
Engaging in hands-on projects allows residents to express themselves, stay active, and connect with others in a meaningful way.
At Laketown Village, we’re no strangers to having artists in our community. Our team encourages residents to explore their artistic side, just like Annette, who finds joy in creating beautiful crafts.
About Annette
Annette, a 101-year-old native of Central Texas, has always cherished her role as a devoted housewife and mother.
Married to the late Joe for 50 years, Annette raised their son Joe Jr. and now enjoys spending time with her four grandsons and ten great-grandchildren.
She loves the quiet moments spent working on arts and crafts in her room. A woman of simple pleasures, Annette once shared that the vacuum cleaner is her favorite invention—something that speaks to her practical and caring nature.
