On September 4, 2024, Dorothy H. will be turning 100!
Dorothy has a taste for adventure, and we encourage it. Six years ago, she dreamed of soaring above Superstition Mountain. She had worked and climbed on one side of it but hadn’t seen the back.
“It was almost like floating, and I had such a good time,” she said. “It was something I’ve wanted to do for so long, and you made it possible. Thank you.”
About Dorothy
Born in 1924, Dorothy lived a remarkable life and is a beloved member of Pegasus Landing of Mesa. Since moving in, she’s become an integral part of the community.
Dorothy’s dream to soar became a reality with help from the Pegasus Landing of Mesa Life Enrichment Director and the pilot, Chris Harrop. They went up to the peaks, over Tortilla Flat, Canyon Lake, and then into the back of Superstition Mountain. Her joy was palpable as she pointed out the very place she had worked from the sky to her son, who was accompanying her.
The community plans a festive 100th birthday celebration for Dorothy with cake, decorations, and heartfelt centenarian birthday greetings. Residents and team members are ready to shower Dorothy with love and well wishes!
