Read all about it! Our Nevada senior care community — The Chateau at Gardnerville — and C.C. Meneley Elementary recently made the news in the Record-Courier paper, bridging the isolation gap due to COVID-19.
First and second grade students read aloud to the residents through an online video chat session on our community TV. The attending residents practiced social distancing by sitting within six feet of each other while listening to the students read.
It is important now more than ever to connect these two generations and have fun at the same time. We were honored to have the CCMES students read to our residents! We hope to have weekly virtual reading sessions in the future!
Even during times like these, The Chateau is making sure our residents are engaged and staying stimulated through small group activities while following proper prevention protocols. We are also taking advantage of digital tools like FaceTime, Skype, and Google Meet to keep loved ones connected. Follow our Facebook page to see what we are up to on a daily basis!
