A Day in the Life of Your Loved One

How Much Help, Guidance, and Support Our Memory Care Program Offers

Residents of Pegasus senior living communities offering memory care have exciting one-of-a-kind experiences that transform the perception of Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Why should I choose a memory care community that keeps its residents active and engaged?

Regardless of an individual’s diagnosis, he or she deserves a welcoming place that encourages an active lifestyle and contributes to his or her well-being. Pegasus’ Connections program takes a holistic, evidence-based approach to help those with memory loss in all aspects of their lives.

What would a day at Pegasus look like for my mom?

Residents of Pegasus communities are usually surrounded by other residents along with our caring team members who encourage them to participate in enjoyable meals, activities, and events. We call our memory care units Connections neighborhoods because of their ability to consider each resident as a complex individual rather than a diagnosis and as an individual, not a number. We also enable our residents to socially connect with one another even while keeping in mind COVID-19 security protocols.

After waking up, for instance, your mother will receive any assistance with personal care she needs, such as bathing and dressing services. She will then be walked or brought in a wheelchair to breakfast.

Your mother’s breakfast will likely consist of plant-centered, brain-healthy food and hydrating beverages.

Afterward, she can sit with others in a musical therapy group singing along to classic tunes and reminiscing. She may also want to try, under careful supervision, one of many fitness programs dedicated to improving her health. Our newest electronic addition to The Farrington, the SMART Board, has aided in physical and mental activities such as going for virtual bike rides or playing large-scale Candy Crush.

One resident plays Candy Crush on our SMART Board with the guidance of an associate.

Even if your mother is not able to complete an activity, we will still encourage her to leave her apartment as often as possible.

Many of our communities have on-site beauty salons that offer haircuts and nail trims, which can also be done within their apartments; even when our salons had closed due to COVID-19, associates were willing to improvise!

We would like to help your mother benefit from nutritious vegetables and fruit while drinking water often throughout the day. Our culinary teams offer brain-healthy foods for lunch and dinner like seafood and meat that she can enjoy alongside other residents. She will remain in a calming environment with peaceful sounds, pleasant aromas, and a passionate team providing round-the-clock care.
